Mix of doubletrack 4x4 roads with boulders, giant potholes, washboard, roots, etc that routes through forest and subalpine/alpine terrain to almost 11,000 ft. Multiuse, used a lot by ATVs. The loop links up several forest roads. Start riding from the jct of FR 200 and FR 103. Ride clockwise: FR 200 -> FR 2001K -> FR 205 -> FR 100 (a main road) -> FR 103 -> return to vehicle. At around mile 6, you come to a creek crossing where straight goes to Campbell Lake. FR 205 continues downstream a little bit - stay on FR 205. FR 103 passes along several alpine lakes, through alpine meadows, and has great views of Medicine Bow Peak. The trail is marked by a mix of brown and green trail arrows. There are many side roads, but the main roads linking this route are well signed (as of 29 July 2006) so stay on the main roads. There is a plethora of camping between US 130 and the FR200/FR103 junction and beyond. This trail is rough going sometimes, but the views on the return leg are great.
