#6 of 128 mountain bike trails in Illinois
This system of trails has a unique history as it used to be Meadowdale International racetrack decades ago. The old racetrack has been restored to a sweet paved bike track but there is quite a bit of off road trails in and around the track. The terrain is pretty varied for Illinois which makes this worth riding. There are some steep descents straight down the fall line sometimes including jumps, there are some twisty trails through the woods and there are some longer stretches through meadows.

There are 2 places to park: off of Randall Road (31) North of Huntley Rd in a parking lot on the west side of 31. There will be a painted silo there. The other lot is off of Huntley Road west of Spring Hill mall on the north side of the street.

Trails are awesome! Went on a dry day, was a little crowded but a blast. I thought the trails here were harder than Palos, but great ride! It was the wife's first time on single track and she did great.
Thank |Best track on northwest sub
Thank |1st Trail I started going to. Lil Monza and serpentine are my favorite trails here.
Thank |Flow wasn't very good, but there's nice terrain to look at.
Thank |Nice single tracks! Very tight and twisting. Could use some high berms to help with flow, but otherwise very good trail design with nice rhythm.
Thank |Depending on which parking lot you enter from, you can have a warm-up from the Huntley lot, or start at the 31 lot and start climbing to get your heart going! Either way is good... After you ride Little Monza, Silo Hill, Corkscrew, head across the creek/bridge and ride Meadowdale, from there onto Serpentine, then onto Sacarabs... Once you tired from riding the singletrack, head out and ride the race track which is 3.5 mile loop of fun down hills and good uphills to work the cardio!
Thank |This is a great system with both flowy and technical sections that can be a lot of fun to ride. There's some fairly difficult features but most of them have bypasses which makes this a great place to progress.
The area north of the creek (Little Monza, Corkscrew, and Silo Hill) is my favorite, but be careful the first time that you ride; a lot of the berms have super narrow exits so you can't go quite as fast as you feel that you should.
The Meadowdale loop can be a little frustrating because of short climbs leading into short descents which lead back into short climbs which lead back into short descents... but there's still some enjoyable sections.
Thank |Really fun park to ride. Wasn't quite sure where to park, but we found the gravel lot right off of 31. The park has some nice hills. Not a lot of trails in total, if I had to guess maybe 6 or 7 miles if you hit every trail, but they are a lot of fun. We were here the day after it rained and didnt have an issue, the trails were plenty dry to ride. The trails are so hilly they dont seem to have a problem with drainage.
Thank |Awesome trails in the chicago burbs. Very tight and twisty to make it fun. Some berms, jumps, bridges to make it interesting. Trail crew has been hard at work. All it needs is more mileage to be 5 stars.
Thank |Fun little track! Some tough climbs, but the decent was pretty cool!
Thank |Love these trails. There are actually 5 trails now and once you get started on this trail you will come upon the others
Thank |Went for my first true single track exp today at raceway and it was great. Plenty of trail and some steep incline and decline mixed with lots of trees and rocks made it entertaining. Was slick and ate $hit a couple times but oh well. Deer also scared the poop out of me. Not many people made it more of a solitary experience, which was great. Showed some flaws in my from scratch mtb. Like no front brake. Reason why i crashed 3 times. Was fun though, definitely good for exp and novice riders. A tad overgrown due to it being late summer
Thank |Great trails for the area
Thank |Very nice trail, it is not marked! Found some steep climbs and some challenging jumps.
Thank |Awesome trails, good speed, tight turns, challenging jumps and gorgeous scenery.

This trail is great for beginners. On the south parking lot, you can start off by introducing yourself to getting used to gravel and dirt with minimal climbing and a small downhill. Then you can progress to taking the hiking path which is fairly fast and windy. From there, you can also take the trail through the horse farm which is also fast depending on which direction you're coming from. Once you are more comfortable, you can park on the north end by the water tower. From the parking lot, you can head straight to the woods and challenge yourself with multiple uphill paths. When you're on the top, you can either go back to the hiking trail or go down the official singletrack which is fast and somewhat technical. What's nice about Raceway is that there are multiple paths that you can interconnect to your liking. Even a secret "jump" trail! Only thing to be mindful is that most of the trails are hiking and horse trails so be prepared to stop or slow down which can be difficult in some areas. Another drawback is that it is a two-way trail, so some blind turns can be tricky or some bikers can be jerks and not slow down. Overall, it is a great well maintained trail that everybody should definitely go and see and try. For beginners, it's a great stepping stone before hitting the big trails like John Muir, Emma Carlin or Palos. If you're not familiar with the trails, I would recommend going on a Wednesday late afternoon as there are a group of riders that are there who can show you the trails and I'm one of them. ;)
Thank |First actual off road ive done very fun have yet to explore all
Thank |Great short trail system! You'd need a local to show you around if you want to ride the good stuff!!
Thank |I've been riding these trails for some time now. If you get off the paved trail there is some great trails. Some awesome climbs, great drops. right now most are really dry with the drought like weather the area has been experiencing this year. Very loose gravel. Overall very good
