Mountain Biking Rainbow Rim Trail
#21 of 417 mountain bike trails in Arizona
Up and down thru the Ponderosa Pine forest. Come out on the viewpoints. Horses also use this trail. I camp at Locust in the trail's center and ride 2 out and back rides. Summer temps in the 80's max. Don't miss East Rim AZ Trail, too, sweet.

Point to point ride between 5 viewpoints overlooking the Grand Canyon. Views are stellar. My favorite is North Timp Point and the best camping is Locust Point. On the Rim you are in the national forest.

One of my favorite trails anywhere. As several have said it's not difficult, but it still has enough technical and climbing to not be boring. If scenery and the views are things that you want in a trail then this one is top of the list. To come around a corner and see the Grand Canyon below you is spectacular.
Thank |Very scenic rim ride. All rid-able trail and abundant camping. Also the Arizona trail can be ridden during the same trip if you have time.
Thank |I rode this trail on a trip with Western Spirit and had an absolute blast! Nothing too technical, long rides with great views.

Thank |My family and I do an annual trip that takes in this ride, as well as one on the Arizona Trail. Incredible views, and it is pretty fun riding, with a good mix of climbing, a little downhill, and some flat land cruising. Definitely one of my favorites.
Thank |This is a pretty ride thru a pine forest, till you hit a viewpoint of amazing, world class scenery of the Grand Canyon, below. The cold air drains away so suprisingly mild at night in summer.
Watch for horses, camera a must.* Review edited 10/12/2011

Thank |awesome flowing singletrack. not technical at all. the views are as good as it gets. camp right on the rim. couldnt get much better than this
Thank |This trail is awesome. I worked on the forest for USFS and rode this trail a few times, one of the best anywhere. Spectacular views, flowy but technical at points - definitely worth checking out! A highlight of my MTB'ing career -
