Mountain Biking Rancho Nacapule - 12 Horas Salvando Vidas 2014
#29 of 95 mountain bike trails in Mexico
This is a 9km loop, but many offshoot trails can be ridden by doing a little exploration. Start the trail by heading south counterclockwise around the ranch house. The trail is dry and sandy in several locations, keep your speed to pass thru these sections. 90% singletrack with gradual rise for first 3km, then fast fun downhill into twisty singletrack. On to a small section of road needed to cross the wash then a gradual climb on more twisting singletrack. Final 2km is fast flowing (gradual downhill) and transforms into a small rocky technical section in the last 1/2 km. Finish at the bathrooms and tennis courts ready for another loop. 33 minute loop for the average rider.

After entering San Carlos, turn right off the main boulevard after Froggy's bar. Follow the signs for CA-ON NACAUPULE. After approx 4 km you pass through a cement vado (arroyo crossing) and the pavement will end. At this point turn left and follow the road to Rancho Nacapule, parking near the tennis courts and bathrooms.
Trail is relatively easy, 90% singletrack with some areas of loose sand. Gradual elevation gain and loss. One technical rocky section. Fun and fast for night riding and annual 12 Horas Salvando Vidas race held here in May 2014.
