Mountain Biking Rancocas Woods
#57 of 111 mountain bike trails in New Jersey
This is a network of doubletrack and singletrack trails. Some areas can be technical with some rocks and roots. Semi steep gradients in those areas where you have many choices on which direction you'd like to tackle the hill. Most have a way to get around the top without having to go down. You have to keep an eye out for the single track areas where people have made trails with whips and twists that have a nice flow. They are typically off the sides of the main trails. There are plenty of roots throughout and some fallen branches / logs that can be obstacles to climb over but most also have a way around. There are many trails running through this section of woods and most will lead out to Rancocas Blvd or Beach St. There are some areas where the trails are sandy but easily managed. There are also a few steep drop offs (20 ft) that you need to be mindful of when on some of the singletrack paths.

From Rt. 295 you take exit 43, Creek Rd, towards Rancocas Woods. The easiest way is to take Creek Rd. to Rt. 537 (Marne Highway) and make a hard left onto Rancocas Blvd. Follow this road till you go down a hill. At the bottom of the hill on the right is an entrance to a bunch of baseball fields. There is a sign that says Rancocas Woods and it's a paved Rd. If you reach the bend in the road you've gone to far. I typically drive straight back to the tree line and park. You'll see one of the trails right there.
