Mountain Biking Reveille Peak Ranch

*****   Add a review
#10 of 279 mountain bike trails in Texas
#462 in the world

The Race Loop trail is around 8.5 miles in length. There is also an upper trail system incorporating a super D course, new Flow Trail and Jaws for jumps and berms. If you have the time and endurance, do the extra black loops, Upper and Reveille Peak, this is the Austin area's newest trail system just built by the Ridgeriders on a private ranch. Grand opening weekend is 12-13 February with race events. Trails open most weekends after that--when no race, the land access fee is 10$.

The trail is very rocky and much is large granite rock face--trail in these sections are painted ala Moab style. Super grippy and fun.

It is very tight in spots and is considered an advanced trail.

There is some smooth dirt here and there.

Don't leave your smart phone behind and do yourself a favor, download MTB Project or Trailforks in case you get lost.

Fantastic trail system. Lots of miles here and a variety of difficulty. I took a 27.5 Trek that I rented from the Bicycle Sport shop here and had a blast.

Paid $10 and got a nice color map...up the first mile or so and a huge cow was just laying on the trail Not wanting to bother it, I cut through and rode to my heart's content.

The red race loop, rated difficult was very cool, big rocks, granite to go up, across and down. Follow the painted white line like in Moab, this was good and a nice challenge that I needed. I then found the flow trail and enjoyed the jumps and berms. Then rode the blue leage loop tail a couple times with some flow trail in there as well.

Lots more options here and if I was in the area for longer, I would have spent more tie here. Very good, can't wait to get back here.

A lot of fun and worth the drive from Austin. The location has a vibe to it that is difficult to describe but worth experiencing. Caution take extra water, then take some more water. Playing on rocks is what keeps us mountain biking, this place will put a smile on your face.
Very cool outdoor arena and plunge pool for after ride relaxing.

Rode in 2010 after it 1st opened. Had some great guides in Chardog (trail builder responsible for this trail) & TAF a local rider. One of the best times ever on two wheels. Technical Moab type riding with amazing views.

It has something for everyone. Went there with my family. Mom ran on trails, girls had a blast camping and grilling, dad went for an awesome late ride of Race Trail and got lost until 10pm!!! This trail was quite technical and I suggest u allow at least 2 hours to complete if you are intermediate in ur skills. Do it early, or otherwise the ranch manager will have to fire some flares and come find u lost on side roads, as signs are not clear and can't be seen in the dark... Friendly and helpful staff. variety of trails and terrain. Had a blast and will return!!

Went there early on a Saturday morning, $10 entrance fee and you receive a trail map. Worked my way to Super D, but got sidetracked and rode Tejas Trail. Most of it was on rock, however it was very technical and I had a blast on it. Finally, made it to Super D. Very challenging with some drops and not for the beginner. I then went onto Race Loop which was a good single trail through the woods with some spots to test your skills. After 4 hours of straight riding I was finished. I didnt ride any of the Easy trails. Overall, I was very satisfied with the trail. I will go back there again in the near future.

Unique landscape for Texas, the granite is very grippy. I felt that the trail to Reveille peak itself would be too difficult for my technical level, but was not too bad at all. Most fun and biggest challenge I have had in Texas. I will be back asap.

Rode this in early spring and it was an afternoon of excellent riding. Really a solid trail system with lots of flatrock features. Several great creek crossings with water in them--rare for Texas! Lots of climbing, but when you get to the top you can take the flow track down. Its the speediest way to descent the hill. When we went, the pump track was being re-constructed so we didn't get to mess around on that but the whole ranch is a really sweet mecca for trail sports events in the Hill Country. Highly recommended; potential for epicness!

Amazing trail for Texas. I love the rocky technical sections. Wide open areas of granite that some claim to be similar to that of Moab. This trail is challenging and well worth riding if your in to that kind of stuff. After another ride with a group as well as one of the trail designers I have a whole new respect for this trail system. So much to see here!! They claim it most technical in Texas. Not sure if its accurate, but from what I have seen i agree.

Very fun and technical trails here! Did the super D which was great with some fast rocky tech sections that make for a great time! My only complaint with the place that kept me from giving it a 5 star rating was the lack of signs that matched up with the map. It was really easy to get lost because nothing was labled properly. After completing the day the owner told me they were working on reposting sign and changing trail names so hopefully this won't be a problem in the future! All in all a great time!

Great scenery. Trail contains LOTS of granite. Very technical rock laced trail interspersed here and there with sparse patches of dirt ribbon.

8 mile XC loop with option sto do more and a Super D style course.
