Mountain Biking Rich Mountain Trail
#220 of 403 mountain bike trails in Georgia
Old jeep trail. Might as well be single track, as you will have fun picking a line. The most technically demanding ride, I know of in NGA. Gains 2k in elevation before the downhill. Not for the novice or the weak!

From 515m take Rock creek rd to game checkin on left. Park here. To start ride continue up road 1/2 mile to first gated road on right. Ride past gate and stay on main jeep road (Note: there are some other jeep roads that intersect, but they are overgrown / not used as much) Once you reach the top of Rich Mt hold on as there are 5 miles of super technical downhill. Eventualy you will come to a gate, continue on, easier gravel road down past quary. Take 515 N to Rock Creek and back to the beer. On, On
It does have it's steep spots (like ~30% and you might walk a little bit. my 'difficulty' rating is baed on the grade), but does have some nice views and is pretty remote feeling.
That said, this road no longer connects to anything on the west side. Plan on riding it as an out and back, because if you try and turn it into a loop somehow, you're going to have a bad time.
Thank |While this might have been technical back in 2004, this road looks like it has recently been regraveled. It's a very scenic ride, but some of the climbs are heinously steep! Of course, that makes for some super fun descending on the way back down. All of the water bars turn into perfect jump lips!
