Mountain Biking Richmond Lake Forest Drive

*****   Add a review
#25 of 44 mountain bike trails in South Dakota
#6,048 in the world

This is a trail of 3 parts: part one is a wide path with a few rolls and turns, part two (near the Youth Camp) is more technical with a small hills, part three (near the Girl Scout Camp) is much more technical with sharp turns, rocks, logs, etc. All three sections are combined into one large loop.

This is a nicely groomed trail set with very little elevation change. It would be perfect for beginners or riders that just want turns and no drops, but doesn't offer a lot of excitement for experienced bikers. Most of the trails are horse trails with a little single track cutting in and out of them. The more technical and hilly terrain is found behind the youth camp. Keep moving or the skeeters will carry you off.

It's a great smooth flow ride. I could keep on riding forever!

If you are a major single track rider, this trail might leave a little to be desired. But if you are looking for some singletrack within the flat lands of NE South Dakota - this is not a bad trail at all! The begining of sections 2 & 3 are a bit difficult to find without direction.
