Mountain Biking Richmond Park DH Trail

****   Add a review
#150 of 322 mountain bike trails in Michigan

Some legit DH right in the city! Hike to the top, or bust your lungs pedaling the granny gear. Then let'r rip. Make sure you have your pilot's license up to date, cause there's sweet jumps all over the place.

There appears to be some hiking trails up at the top, and several ways to get to the beginning of the DH, but keep looking, you'll know when you're there. The city park is super cool too.

Getting there
Park in the lot between the pond and the pool. Ride the pathway from the parking lot, taking a right, go behind the pool house. Continue onto the grass, sticking close to the edge of the woods. There is a hike-a-bike path up to the top of the run. Stay safe and give this one at least a couple days to dry out after a rain.

Difficult flow/jump lines in the middle of the city.

Awesome downhill flow trail!! It takes exactly 1 minute if you soak it all in. Thanks to whoever built this! The only reason I won't give this a 4-star is because there isn't a trail going up that's just as great. I like to trek across to Richmond, take the sidewalk up, then go through the woods by bike to the "trailhead". There is *plenty* of potential in this park--more trails should be built.

One cautionary note--maintenance seems to be irregular. A week after a storm I hit a washed out gully coming down the slope and went head first. I would strongly recommend first doing the route slowly to get an all-clear before the grand rampage.
