Second trip out there and had a little more time to ride. Please no hate mail, but this place is better than Phils World, which I rode the day before. It's Phil's World, but prettier. When you get time to hit some of the more remote trails here you will be amazed. This is my favorite non technical area in Colorado.

Tempted to give it 5 stars. So good you are glad there is a donation box! Absolutely beautiful, trails are in great condition and camping basically just across the road. 5 hour drive for me- I'll be back.

We started at Dennis Weaver Memorial park. 3 Mile loop on Singletrack. Lots of hikers and unleashed dogs on a Sunday.
Trail itself is a bit bumby rain erosion and rocks. After the park we headed over to the RAT (Ridgway area trails) . Nice collection of single track and flowy downhill sections. They've 40 miles of prepped trails. For sure worth the visit. Trails were in good shape, well signed and they have maps posted on almost each intersection. We stayed in Ridgway so cycling up to the start of the RAT trails is a nice warmup. Besides the ride you'll see epic views.

I hate to give this 3 stars because the trails were in excellent condition and obviously well maintained but it just wasn't very challenging. Maybe a great place if you're a local to get a ride in after work but as a riding "destination", it was definitely lacking.

RAT Trails in Ridgway have a great diversity of trails with over 20 miles of wooded singletrack. It rained the night before but since there has been little rain, the trail was damp enough to keep the dust down and had very few wet spots. It was an EPIC ride as usual. The only reason this trail doesn't get a 5 is cause there are no trials sections, with ramps, bridges and/or jumps.
