Mountain Biking Rimutaka Rail Trail
#2 of 40 mountain bike trails in New Zealand
A relatively gentle climb up an old rail line (now graveled) through a beautiful valley with the high point being the pitch-black tunnels you go through. (Take a torch/head lamp).
Its not going to technically challenge anyone but its an enjoyable ride.

Turn off SH2, 9km north of Upper Hutt. The carpark is 1km along a metal road. Or you can enter the Wairarapa end of the Rail Trail via Cross Creek Road (off Western Lake Road). Pedestrian and cycling access only beyond the carpark.

Thank |Just an easy peddle throuigh a beautiful valley, out and back, but worth it if you're in the mood for a ride without any real challenge (unless you're afraid of the dark).
I tried to ride the summit tunnel without any light, and its totally disorientating in a cool kind of way.
