Mountain Biking Brazos River Trails

****   Add a review
#87 of 279 mountain bike trails in Texas
#2,962 in the world

This trail system consists of 2 main trails that make a loop following along the Brazos River with 1 additional loop trail that branches off one of the main trails. These trails are beginner to intermediate with some sharp turns, a few decent drops and elevation changes. There is not a set direction with a few diferent entrances to each trail so be wary of oncoming riders.

Getting there
Take 59 south exit 99 (grand parkway) make a right on crab river road, then make a left at the stop sign. Cut through memorial herman hospital parking lot and make a right. Go all the way down that street until it ends and make a right. The sreet comes to a dead end which is where am entrance to the trails are at. You will go through a gate and up a levy to a gravel walking path(go left at the bottom of the levy where you will see a bike path carved into the grass, follow this path and the MTB trails will be on your right keep in mind there are 2 trail systems here so follow the path to find them). It is very confusing to find but you can find the trails on google maps that is how I found them.

Trail was covered with leaves and had sections of the loops with heavy mud (do not ride these when muddy).

The trail is great when dry... It takes at least two weeks to dry up after being muddy...but it's a very fun and fast trail

Great track when dry. A lot of exciting turns and elevation dips. Currently today after a weeks worth of rain, it's muddy and not so easy to navigate. The Trails are littered with hog tracks in the mud. Give it a few more days and this trail will be up and running great again.

Yes this was a fun track. A half dozen bikers on the trail around Sat.8:30. Trails was marked, visible, dry and lots of leaves. The first trails did have technical hills but I was able to cover them with my single speed 29er. They have another set of trails north that are good fast laps and are just as fun.I think it is worth going out of your way for some real good fun. I live an hour out and the wife had fun too.
    SEE YOU ON THE TRAILS....
