Mountain Biking Riverhead - Old School
#24 of 171 mountain bike trails in North Island
Old school adventure rides, there are tracks everywhere in this area, beware there aren't many trail markings, shared with motorbikes so a couple of ruts to deal with, best ridden when dry, awesome for developing your technical skills!! Heaps of gravel roads too if your into that.

40km / 40 mins from town. Head west along SH16, take a right onto Old North Road, head right on to Ararimu Valley Road. After 4.6km you will see Barlow Road to the right, park at the intersection and ride from there.
Riverhead varies from a "1" to a "4" depending on rainfall and motorcycle usage.
Thank |After heavy rain, many trails become so muddy that they are impossible to ride. Dirt bikes leave huge ruts that fill with water and can be very deep. Some trails are very steep, and tree roots add to the technical difficulty.
Awesome place to ride, beware of the motorcycle ruts as the trails are shared use.
