Mountain Biking River Trail
#13 of 121 mountain bike trails in Maine
Intermediate / Advanced
Fast single track with a few short (bike length) bridges. Trail sees many riders coming in both directions so be aware and move to the side for advanced bikers. This will take you to Hannaford's in Falmouth.

take 295 > washington ave. follow until you reach allen ave. take right onto allen ave. until you reach summit st. follow summit st until you see the portland trail sign on your right. park and follow traildown to the river. take a left once you reach the river. right dead ends at an ok picnic spot. once you come out on washington ave. again, cross the bridge, and take your first right into the driveway after the bridge. go under bridge, cross railroad trax, and follow trail until you reach corsetti's on 302. take left out of corsetti's parking lot ride 302 down over bridge then take a right immediatly after bridge down the path, then dip left back onto the trail. this will end out behind o glass repair shop in westbrook on warren ave.ride the road back to trail head. see if you can find the stunt park on the ride back.
This is fun singletrack that swoops and dips along the Presumpscot River. If you're looking for a trail with fewer rocks and roots than many of the trails in the area, this is a good bet.
Thank |Yea man this was one of the first trails I ever did its not that bad, it's very fun trail with some cool things along the way but I would have to say welcome all bikers who have done some single track before, hardly ever see advanced riders when Im on this trail
Thank |i have been riding this trail for 15 years and i never get sick of it . very smooth and fast narrow trails with a bunch of small loops splitting off
Thank |Giving mountain bikers a bad name with that attitude.....get over yourself.
Thank |yep youre an idiot dude i've been riding that trail since i was fifteen. it's not that bad. you probably shouldnt be out there if thats your attitude toward other riders.
Thank |good trail close to home. good fun . watch out for yuppies in tights... close to falmouth haha
Start the ride at Summit St and it is an easy warm-up to the river but watch for pedestrians. Once you hit the river and go left it gets a little more technical with some good loops(some tough climbs). At rt 100 cross the river and it gets a whole lot more technical with stunts and bridges(if they have not been washed out by the rain). When you make it to rt 302 and cross the river again it gets even more difficult with some insane stunts, the trail also gets very overgrown and difficult to ride.
But you should definetly not ride the road back to Summit St the trails are great the other direction too.
Thank |This trail was a blast! Had lots of fun but honestly think dark prince doesn't know what he is talking about. This is an intermediate trail not some crazy trail that no one can go on.......
