The Royalview Trail is located in the Mill Stream Run Reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks near Strongsville, Ohio. It was first opened in June of 2012, after many hours of design and construction work by the Cleveland Metroparks and volunteers from the Student Conservation Association and the Cleveland Area Mountain Bike Association (CAMBA).
The trail network consists of two loop trails:
The Yellow Trail - about 3.5 miles
The Red Trail - about 5.5 miles
The Red Trail is further split into east and west. Riding directions alter each day of the week; check the markers at each trailhead to determine the direction for the day. Please note that you may have to ride a short connector via the road to hit every trail, depending on where you are parked and the direction of the day.
There is also an out and back skills section that is accessible from the yellow/red connector.
There is water near the picnic pavilion at the top lot.
The terrain is very beginner-friendly, with gentle climbs and descents, some roots, and very few rocks.
Fun and fast trail. Beginner to Intermediate. Great for XC and cardio workout!
Thank |Great trail for beginner/intermediate. It's a fun fast trail that's great for cardio and honing your skills. If you're looking for features like rock mounds or jumps you won't find them here, but you will find a well groomed and maintained trail with wonderful views and lots of fellow riders!
Thank |Good for beginners other wise not so great
Thank |This place was a lot of fun! I consider myself an experience rider and i took someone who had only been riding for a few months and she loved it too. No real scary parts or serious obstacles to be had here. Just a nicely maintained trail through the words of Berea. Afterwards we went to The Brew Kettle (10 min away) where we had some of the best chili ever. Beers were on point too but this isn't a beer website so I'll save that for later. Anyway, we had a nice little day trip from Canton and look forward to going back again.
Thank |Very fun! Great flow. I, myself, am a beginner rider and I really enjoyed this trail. Sweet and to the point, very easy to follow.
Thank |Fun singletrack, the yellow route has some gradual climbing but nothing sustained. The red route flows a little bit better, has some rooty areas and some rocks but nothing too difficult. Great trail for people new to the sport and/or intermediates.
Thank |What an excellent set of trails! Flowy and FAST! A beginner could handle these and someone with advanced skills can push their boundaries with speed. The red loop is fun, the yellow loop offers a long gradual climb that offers a great aerobic workout, and there is an advanced loop that offers more advanced features for those with better technical skills. I would say this stands out as one of my favorite rides while traveling. What a great mix of fun & workout!
Thank |Really fun ride. Intermediate level riding, not a lot of technical stuff. Moderate hills. Very popular place with lots of riders.
Thank |Good if you're a beginner. Pretty lackluster if your of any other skill level. Most of the trail is terribly out sloped. Only part that didn't have me thinking "man I should've went to VK or Mohican " was the "most difficult" section which would be perfect for intermediates.
Thank |Super fast with plenty of cardio work. A fun 11 PLUS mile nooo
Thank |New to the game, but this track got me into into the sport real quick. Flows great, tough up hills, fun downs...track options to jump on/off if you get too gassed. Easy access and has been in great shape every visit. Girlfriend was literally a first timer and had no issue with the yellow. She too had a blast. I'll be back.
Thank |Been riding mountain bikes for about a month now (new to mtb, but semi skilled cyclist) and I found this track was perfect for me. Not too easy but not to hard. Super fun, I plan on going back real soon. Had a blast and would recommend any new mtb give it a whirl with a pal
Thank |Went today to ckeck it out and I was pleasantly surprised. Pretty fast singletrack and fun/beginner friendly but will keep you interested if you are intermediate.
Thank |Unlike most beginner trails, this trail is enjoyable for anyone. Although they are not steep, there are plenty of long, sustained climbs. The downhills are much more fun than you would suspect. The flow is awesome!
Thank |The best thing about this trail is that it is not intimidating for my wife, yet it is not boring for me. This is a perfect family trail.
Definitely flow trails. Although I wouldn't classify them as intermediate. It's the type of trail where you are only as safe as you are fast. So the faster you go, the more difficult the trail becomes. Very fun trails. Beginner friendly for sure.
Thank |This is a welcome addition to NE Ohio! Where once there was a dearth of trails, we are now starting to find an abundance. This fits nicely into the mix. They label some of this as intermediate and some as advanced, but it is all intermediate -- unless you fly along, which you can really do. There is one stream crossing. I don't remember any log crossings. It's flow, flow, flow. The hills are gentle. Make sure you follow the one way signs. I recommend parking at the bottom, riding up the "intermediate" trail and then taking the "advanced" loop. If you liked it, take the advanced loop again. when you are done, you can ride back down the road for a mile or so to your parking place. It's all downhill and makes for a fun finish. Thanks again to CAMBA for doing a great job!
Thank |Excellent singletrack. 18-24inches wide. Can get plenty of speed and flow. Well done CAMBA.
