Mountain Biking Salina Ymca Loop
#41 of 90 mountain bike trails in Kansas
This is a nice singletrack trail through woods right in the middle of town. It is
about a one mile loop. There is a bike shop on the West side of Ohio Street
just North of Crawford street. The bike shop is where I learned about this
obscure little trail.

From I-35 take the Crawford Street exit and drive East 2.5 miles to Ohio
Street then turn left (North). Go three blocks then turn left (West) on
Westchester Drive. At the end of the street is the Salina YMCA parking lot.
The trail starts at the North edge of the parking lot. Google Earth
coordinates 38-49' 52.18"N 97-36' 5.92"W.
Overgrown not being maintained very well but still a lot of fun
Thank |This was a fun fast trail with some sharp turns and a couple of ups and downs. The trail was very well maintained. By the time you start to have fun the trail is complete. Its just that short. Good use of what land there is available. Still all in all a fun ride. should try to expand the trail just a bit
Thank |Currently the trail is overgrown
Thank |It's a great trail to hit several times in a row if you need a workout or to link to other trails in the city (Indian Rock Park or the East Loop). It is being modified and is difficult to find the Strava loop, but every path is cut-in and fun.
Thank |A pleasant but all too short meander through the woods adjacent to the YMCA.
Thank |Fun short twisty trail being only a few minute ride from the bike shop its great to try out your new bike. Spider webs can be a problem at times.
Thank |The entrance is at the North end of the YMCA parking lot and is marked with a wooden sign reading "Fitness Trail". A short way down this CCW loop is a small side loop with some nice moguls. Once you reach the end of the trail in the woods follow the gravel path and cross over the road to reach the woods on the North side and ride that wooded trail to complete the 1.2 mile loop. As an alternative just return through the woods for a 1.6 out and back ride. This is a really fun beginners single track trail with lots of tight turns and a few small rises to keep it interesting. Well worth riding several times on the same visit.
