Mountain Biking San Pedro House Pond
#327 of 417 mountain bike trails in Arizona
This is a short very scenic begginers ride. Do be couteous and follow trail right-of-way rules as this is a very popular trail for bird watchers. From the parking lot take the trail near the toilet that runs East towards the river. At the tree line there is a bench and the trail spilts North or South. Take the right hand turn towards the South and ride to the next bench (about 100 yards on the left). The trail splits here. Take the trail beside the bench that leads down the hill to the river. Follow this trail for about one quarter mile South to a trail split to the right. Follow this trail a short way to the big tree beside the pond. A trail circles the pond and is a very fun singletrack. This is the loop of the lollipop and is just under 1/2 mile in length. If you just circle the pond once this is a very nice ride just over 1 mile long but I bet you'll ride around the pond more than once. The trail is smooth and very convoluted with a lot of nice dips. Just be careful of birders around blind corners.
