Living close by, it's a nice little get away for some easy to mid level trail riding. Downhills are quick and uphills are pretty much the same. Just be aware of people hiking and dogs when going into the downhills.
Thank |Beaver Pond Trail is 3 miles. Gravel base can be loose at times. Nice and wide for beginners, but "steep" hills, so kids under 10 or so would have trouble.
Tunxis trail is accessible off Beaver Pond trail (counterclock-wise). Pick up Blue/Yellow dot on your right just after Crosscut trail and follow trail until you turn left on black dots (which lead back). Be prepared to carry/walk your bike 25% of the time. Lots of roots/rocks and one nearly vertical rock ledge.
