The Sherman Creek Trail, Trail #203, is a 7.1 mile trail providing access to the Lolo Motorway, a historic road once used by the Nez Perce to reach their Salish friends in Montana to trade fish for buffalo, among other things. The trailhead has a small gravel driveway and parking area that will fit two trucks with stock trailers, a hitchrail, water trough, feed manger and a small toilet. The trailhead is located across from Wilderness Gateway Campground at milepost 122.5 along US Highway 12. source: fs.usda.gov
