Mountain Biking Shore Acres Mountain Bike Trail

****   Add a review
#83 of 322 mountain bike trails in Michigan
#3,280 in the world

The trail is tight and twisty, smartly utilizing the limited topography. It is mostly wooded with two short open field sections. The trail winds around a disc golf course but does not cross any of the throwing lanes. There is also a BMX track on the property.

Great little trail. Adjacent to Saugatuck dunes state park.

This is a great little trail to ride if you're going solo and looking to work on turns, climbing, acceleration. It's close quarters. There are two concentrated stretches of tight corners in the woods--the first is mostly a moderate, steady descent, the second is a combo of ascent & descent. In the middle, there is a brief, fairly open stretch through the open-field part of the disc golf course. Riding in a group, especially a mixed skill level group, would be tough, but for clearing your head an getting a focused workout, this trail fits the bill. Shore Acres is right next to Saugatuck Dunes State Park, so you could take some time before or after to explore that on foot.

Short trail with a few interesting features. Rather open. The old BMX track is a fun diversion.

Really fun ride! A few challenging spots keep it interesting. It's a pretty quick loop and you never feel like you completely escape into the woods, but other than that it's a good trail. Riding in April the trail needed some clean up, I'm sure it improves in later spring and summer. Overall it's well marked but there are a few turns that are easily missed.
