Good work out on a variety of switch backs to get to the top , many choices of difficulty to get back down . Even walked up the rubber mat lift to the top since it was not operational that late in the day . Moist dirt due to recent rain . Quiet on the hill

This is the absolute perfect place to learn to transition from x-country to downhill. The lift is actually a magic carpet ride to a hill that is about the height of moonstone. The trails are very well maintained and it is owned and operated by the same family that started sir SAMs in the 70's. This will be a yearly trek, we loved the staff and the mountain and got enough runs in to justify the drive!

Very well marked, some pretty solid downhill and a decent mix of XTC. Also, the owner - I forget her name now - was very kind and helpful. She even offered to leave beer on ice for us after our ride as they were closing for the day when we got there. If you're in the area it's definitely worth a ride. Oh ya, amazing views the whole ride!

Sir Sam's is a nice east coast trail system fun xc, and decent downhil, and even a great little skills park at the top of the hill. Crash and carry was my favorite trail, with nice technical bits and decent jumps, it can definatley be a very challenging singletrack at race speed. The one recommendation I have is don't use the rental bikes because they are in rather horrid condition, just bring your own (you can still have fun on a ht if that's all you've got).

This is a great spot to go! Great trails that are well kept! Great beginner trails and great conveyer belt to quickly bring you back up the mountain! And the trails are so great that you dont have to come back down the mountain if you dont want to. Just a great place to go! Not disappointed here!

Still a new spot and they should be adding more in the near future I hope. Not a lot of terrain yet. A little for everyone though.
