Mountain Biking Sleepy Hollow Ski And Bike Center
#22 of 141 mountain bike trails in Vermont
Stop at the Sleepy Hollow Inn to sign in and pay the 6$ per person MTB ride fee and get a free map.
The trail starts out on wide double track used for cross country skiing but can become a network of sweet single tack well marked with Star Wars names. If you look closely as you proceed up you'll notice single track entrances to your right, Skywalker. Take Skywalker up the mountain then Yoda and proceed through the rest of the Star Wars network. Yoda (red) was sooooo sweeet! There are easy, moderate and difficult trails, about 6 of each type (give or take a few) scattered around the mountain.
If you follow Yoda to the top and then connect with the wide double track and proceed to up the Mt. you will see a cabin off to your left. The cabin has a great view of Camel's Hump Mt.

From Interstate 89: Exit 11 for Richmond. Take US Route 2 east to town of Richmond. At traffic light, turn right onto Bridge Street. Bridge St becomes Huntington Rd. Follow this road for about 5 miles. Turn right onto Sherman Hollow Road (there are also signs for Birds of Vermont Museum and Green Mountain Audubon Nature Center). Sleepy Hollow is 1.8 miles up Sherman Hollow Road on the left. From Hinesburg (Rt. 116): Take Mechanicsville Rd. (or CVU road) to Richmond-Hinesburg Rd., follow ~ 2.5 miles Go right on Magee Hill Rd.(this is a dirt road) Magee Hill joins Sherman Hollow Rd. at 1 mile, follow Sherman Hollow 2.5 miles to Sleepy Hollow, which is on the right.
Fun and fairly easy trail system. 10 minute drive from home so it is great for getting a ride in after work. You can stay on top of the hills and ride the greens for a casual peddle. Or you can take the blues and reds and enjoy some very fun downhill sections and some slightly challenging climbs back up.
Thank |Fun trails. Some were difficult and somewhat flow-less, and other had small drops mixed in with big berms.
Thank |Needs more signals
Thank |I got lost
Sleepy Hollow was a good kick in the pants for me! Your technical climbing skills will get pushed if you take the 7.1 Skywalker Loop, which entails a lot of climbing and then 2 great white-knuckle descents towards the end of the day. There’s one or two spots where I’d almost recommend posting a caution sign due to the sudden impact, but these are well-marked trails, and the roots and rocks will keep you focused. Not for fans of smooth and buff riding, but a fun techy ride!
Thank |Lots of trails to choose from, with something to suit every style. Fellowship of the Wheel members get to ride for free, but non-members must pay a small fee. Lightsaber and Yoda are really fun trails. Can be connected to the Hinesburg Town Forest via a connector trail off Yoda.
Thank |This trail started off slow due to the ski paths but once you hit the single track it's sooooo sweeeet! The Yoda trail is some of the sweetest trail I've ridden in awhile. The trail is tight technical single track that requires great handling if you decide to push the tempo. You could spend the day hit'n these trails and never get board. The day I rode there was still race flags on hte Yoda trail. I would ride this trail again anyday of the week and twice on Sunday.
