Mountain Biking Smrekar Trails / Black River State Forest
#126 of 388 mountain bike trails in Wisconsin
About 7 loops . trails are all in the not so dense woods. they're very wide like jeep roads. smooth climbs and descends. nothing technical. great for endurance full speed training. watch out for damn wood ticks. they will clinch on to your hide. carefully check yourself and your gear after ride, and then check yourself in the shower. check photos

I-94 to Black River Falls(exits 115 and 116) or Millston (exit 128) , take road 12 to country highway "O" , look for Smrekar Rd, go about 1 mile to parking lot also trailhead for the trail system.
Very well groomed and marked. Not your average "true" single track mtb trail, but perfectly awesome for not having to travel over an hour one way just to ride.
Thank |Easy ride, very pretty. This area of WI doesn't have much challenge, but it's great if you just want a quiet ride with little traffic. The state park Pigeon Creek campground is nice, with easy access to trails you can also get camping permit from the state. rode this area on the logging trails long before these trails were made. Millston is a nice town, Black River Falls is close by. But I'm partial to this area as I am a Smrekar by birth.
