Mountain Biking South Fork Snake River Trail
#122 of 319 mountain bike trails in Idaho
Go left at the trail head. It heads down about a mile and a half on double
track. Then you'll come to a creek crossing. After the crossing the trail
heads across a gate. Head left after the gate crossing you'll go about 1/2
mile more on double track then the single tracks heads off to the right up
the hill. There is a sign for the South Fork trail. Trail heads up to the river
bench. It follows the river short drops and climbs mixed in for the first 4
miles. After this point you encounter steep drops with hike a bike climbs. If
you don't want to do the hike a bikes turn around at either the 4 or 5 mile
mark. This will keep it a fun ride. The hike a bike sections are steep and
time consuming. Trail can also be done as a shuttle. Best if rode north to
south in this case.

At the intersection of Hwy 31 and Hwy 26 head East about 5 miles. When you
come to Pine Creek Bench rd turn left. Follow the road to the end. The last half
mile or so doesn't look like much of a road because it goes through a farmers
field but it is. Road ends at the trail head.
If you cut the trail in half it is a really fun cross country trail with some sections of steep downhill. For the first 1-4 miles the trail is pretty smooth. It does have sections of loose gravel and some rock. The last half before turning around consists of steep hike a bike sections and the trail is pretty full of rock. Recommend turning around about the 5 mile mark. This will give you some steep climbs but not too many that you want to die. First mile and a half is downhill double track that flows really fast.
