Mountain Biking South Hattiesburg
#22 of 37 mountain bike trails in Mississippi
The trail is laid out by local riders, just like all of our trails. anyway this particular
part of our intertwining trail system is the most technical and challinging. It starts off down a hill and curves left back into the woods. cross a creek up a hill and it turns right around a fence and back to the right. There iis a nice seires of hill switch
backs through out. You will come to a point where you will need to turn right and ride pararell to the Hwy.follow down untill the trailend and you have to turn right through the fence. follow up through the gate ( the owners don\'t care) Down to the road turn left over the RR tracks and turn left on the dirt road.go to the light pole and turn right up into the wood , you\'ll see the entrance. Follow down through some mean ass intense short climbs. It loops around and do it all over again.

Take 59 N to Hattiesburg, at the red light take a left on to Hardy St. The next red light will be 40th Ave. turn right and follow the road through 3 red lights up the 40th extention to Richburg Rd. turn right over the two small bridges and turn right after the 2nd bridge into the grass area. The trail head is back past the power plant
down the hill and stay left at the bottom into the woods.
Coming from North, GA /NC riding, I was shocked to find a series of trail systems. I enjoyed all loops. Only trail that was struggle to follow is the yellow loop. To Great Riding!!
Thank |Rough, sandy, more of a four wheeler trail. But a great workout
Thank |Take this one off the list... too rutted and abandoned.
This trail is a continous mess of ruts, mud, and never ending sandy spots. I never rode for more than about 1 minute before having to stop or fight with my front tire in the sand.
I wanted to do something new today instead of the Jackson Road Trails, and decided to check this out. Just behind the power plant the ATV road dips down a hill, and then the trail starts on your left. the trail is basically a 4 wheeler trail through the woods.
I never went more than about 100' before I hit a big fat sandpatch, or a downed tree.
I ate way to many spider web sandwhiches, and my front tire danced in the loose sand all day long. This trail is pretty poor, save your time and frustration and dont do this..... This trail is over, thanks to the 4 wheelers...
Thank |Good track considering it's the only one in Hattiesburg. Other side of the road provides some good riding too but it can get real wet during the winter.
