Mountain Biking Northlake Nature Center
#20 of 51 mountain bike trails in Louisiana
Northlake Nature Center is situated in the heart of St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, it is also adjacent to Pelican Park Sports Complex and the 31-mile Tammany Trace Rails-to-Trails path. It has 3 main biking and hiking trails. Eagle Trail Loop, South Loop, and North Loop. The Center offers visitors the opportunity to experience three different ecosystems: hardwood forest, pine-hardwood forest and pond-swamp. The ponds in the cypress swamp area are the result of beaver dams and a beaver lodge is visible from one of the centers raised boardwalks.

Hello, I'm having difficulty finding directions to the Alligator Loop. New to the area. Can you please provide directions? Thank you so much.
Thank |It's a 4 because there is not much else around this area. There are some decent twists and small elevation changes on this trail. It seems to be well maintained. It is much better than just a wide flat trail. Scenery is good. Singletrack for part of the trail.
Thank |It has some minor features that may pose a slight challenges to a beginner which makes it abit more interesting than any other trails that I have seen in close proximity to this.
Great for my newbie kids 9 and 12. We loves it. Faster paced then I thought keeping up with them. Lots of roots
Thank |Great for beginners. Not too many hikers in the late afternoon. My 9 and 13 year old loved it for newbies.
Thank |Lots of roots, some ups and downs and fun curving trails. Great for my 9 year old on his BMX and 12 year old on a MtB. My first time ever on it besides hiking. Trails are well marked and lots of natural rights with markers
Thank |Nice easy trail through the pines. Nice scenic spots. Take Savanna Lake Trail for some fun small hills and overlook of the lake.
Thank |Nice easy ride through the pines and swampy woods. Savanna Lake Trail is a fun little trail with some hills. Giving this 3 out of 5 because it is one of the few off road trials in the Mandeville area. Try parking at Pelican park and bike over to the trail system. Restrooms and water are available at Pelican Park.
Thank |Nice easy ride through the pines and swampy woods. One of the few off road trails in the Mandeville area. Great for beginners and children.
