#94 of 402 mountain bike trails in Georgia

The trail may not look long but it has alot in the short ride. It is mostly singletrack but has some wider paths on the way to the singletrack. The loop can be ridden either way and there are a couple of options off of the loop. So you can put together a good ride and a good workout. The trial has nice downhills and some good climbs. Many rock garden type crossings, going up and downhill, and a good number of roots in certain areas. The best thing is to go check it out and decide which way you want to ride the trails. There are also some 4x4 trails that run on a gas line clearing that provide some fun riding also. You could easily put together a longer ride just by using the different options of trails that are there. Technically the signs say hiking trails but bikes are allowed to ride there right now. There may be horses on part of the trail sometimes. So keep your eyes out for hikers and horses so they continue to let us ride.

Trail is closed to the public until further notice due to COVID-19. There is no notice on the park website or the single track app that says it's closed. The gates are locked shut with posted signs.

Fun ride for a novice like me. Good little climbs, plenty of rollers and roots to keep your attention. Fast in spots. Lots of leaves out today, which kept me searching for the trail but I stayed on course. Great trail for metro ATL.

South Rockdale might not have a ton of mileage but the intermediate and advanced loops pack a lot of fun into a little length. I did a bunch of laps and didn't get bored. For my money the intermediate loop is one of the better trails in the metro area, sweet and flowing but enough rough stuff sprinkled in to keep it spicy. When going ccw the advanced loop features some difficult, sustained climbing, which was totally unexpected south of I-20. I'll be back for sure.

Great fun. This is a brand new trail. It is the best east side trail, near Decatur. I enjoy it more than the Olympic Course because of the flowy pump track and berms. Southside park is a good workout but just technical stuff.
I cant wait until they expand the Advanced segment and connect it to the intermediate.

This place Is magic. Fun condensed into pump track trails. One intermediate trail has berms and rollers for pumping. When you leave the woods you can climb the hill up to tthe pathway and make it a lap style run. I've done this many times bringing my hammock and boom box for a fun relaxed break. This place rocks and will only get better with time with the future development and maintenance

Well built trails. The 1-mile beginner loop is wide with flat turns, while the intermediate trail offers some berms and rollers thrown into the mix, along with a bit more climbing/descending. The advanced trails are separated from the other loops, requiring about a mile of riding north on the paved PATH. For now, the flow trail in the advanced area is the climbing trail, while the two descending trails are pretty rough and natural, with cool rock formations to ride over and between. Some steep sections!

The trail that is there now is a mixture of hiking, biking and horse trails that don't really amount to much YET! New trails are coming this winter (tentatively). Sorba-Imba is to begin work soon for 10 miles of trail.

This trail is a bit awkward, it doesn't flow well in my opinion. It seems more like sporadic trail off shoots based around the paved trail (rock dale river trail). However there are some tricky and technical downhill sections that provide a challenge.

At only about 2 miles I was wishing for a little more dirt but after talking to locals I found out I could also loop in the trail for horses and add an extra mile or so. Apparently the are another 500 acres of land that are also attached to the north side of the park on the other side of the river so hopefully more trail will be coming soon. About 1/3 is boring doubletrack but that gives way to a nice loop of singletrack with various options and the majority of the horse trail was also singletrack. Apparently very few horses actually ride here due to the lack of trails so you currently won't have a problem riding the horse trail as well. With some extra mileage this could easily be a solid 3 star trail. Even though I gave it a beginner rating, it has hazards that will prepare you for rougher rides and teach you to handle your bike.

Some sweet singletrack and some tricky rock crossings. Nice scenery to be so close to a city. It is only a mile loop but I ride it in multiple directions and chose different parts of the trail to mix it up. Fun to ride.* Review edited 3/4/2010* Review edited 3/5/2010
