Mountain Biking South Seatac
#65 of 1,216 mountain bike trails in Washington
The area was an old housing development till the planes got to loud and the houses had to be moved. There is a combination of old roadways and single track. There is slightly rolling terrain, with enough technical sections to keep it interesting. If you look there are a few jumps and an occasional small drop.

I-5 to the 200th Street exit. Follow 200th west across Highway 99. The entrance is atthe bottom of a steep hill. On your right will be Tyee Golf course. The entrance is on the left.
There's a small network of trails here. It looks like most of the jump park has been dismantled. It's wedged between two prisons, and is located directly under the Seatac Airport flight path. Planes taking off every 30 seconds make it pretty loud. If you live close by, it would be good for a quick ride but it's probably not worth driving more than 10-15 minutes to ride here. After riding the single track, I jumped onto the cement jogging path and rode down the hill and then rode back up to get a bit of a workout in.
Thank |The area I rode seem unmaintained. When a jet goes overhead it's super loud. You can jet down the paved trail to the Des Moines water front and it makes for a nice climb back up.
Thank |Don't waste your time coming here. If you live within a few minutes then maybe ok for a daily ride but I didn't see anything great.
Thank |This was rated as an intermediate trail but can be ridden by any beginner as long as you have a good eye for the trail. Stay at the north end and east side of the road to Score and practice up your basic skill. Lots and lots of trails here to link up with and the nicety of being close to the south end and almost impossible to get lost. There is one particular trail that I really like that is just about nothing but S turns and roots to practice wheel lifts. There are a couple of flow places but you're going to have to go find them your self. Normally I would have rated this trail a 3.5 to a 4; no scenery to speak of, people, and jet noise. But because it is so easy to get to for us SouthEnders and a great place to practice and drill I rated it a 5. Of course for flow practice you have to go to Duthie. Or better yet Whistler or Northshore.
Thank |Not bad for any level rider, some pretty burly jumps and more coming, but overall fairly intermediate. The stop and starting at the asphalt sections between the trails kinda sucks. Breaks up the flow. Lots of side trails to check out...just watch out for nettles!
Thank |Great for practicing drops and dirt jumps. Some cross country. Usually busy on saturdays.
Thank |All of the mud on the west side is dried up. The freeride area to the south is about an intermediate level and a good time. Raced the Wednesday Nite World Championship series last night, it is a good time for anyone interested in trying XC racing. The entire event is extremely relaxed & family friendly.
Thank |Really fast single track. Watch the criss cross rodes they are traveled, not heavily but watch for cars.
