#142 of 319 mountain bike trails in Idaho
Ride up Channel Lock trail. At the top of trail go right up the jeep road about 20
yds. Trail is marked on the right off the road. Trail will meet a connector double
track close to the end. Go left and it will lead you back to the top of Channel
lock. Trail can be combined with others in the area to make it longer.

At the stoplight in Driggs head west. When the road curves south continue
straight. The main road will curve north and then west again heading into
Horseshoe Canyon. After you cross the forest service boundary (second
cattle guard) trail head is .4 miles on the right. Parking pullout is a little
farther on the left or on the right.
SOUTHBOUND trail begins at the top of Channel Lock.
Channel lock and southbound are part of a larger network; Horseshoe area. See other trail listings for Driggs.
Thank |The climb up Channel lock is tough but doable; maybe 8-10% grade. Then can do southbound by itself, taking a right at the intersection. Left takes you around the bigger loop. Some good climbs to the NW corner (Prohibition and Burgh are steep) Then coming around clockwise on sodbuster and cody's offers a nice set of downhills. (I was racing a quail for about 100 ft!) Some of the trail is very narrow, but very smooth mostly.
Wife and I (both 60 yo) had a good workout on the big loop of 12 miles.
Great early season or fall ride when it isn't so hot out. Southbound can be done either direction. It provides views of Teton valley as well as the Grand Teton range. Nothing technical about it. Just a nice flowing singletrack.
