Mountain Biking Sportsman Lake
#53 of 112 mountain bike trails in Alabama
This is a nice collection of loops and trails that provides a bit of fun for everyone. Everything there is singletrack, some of it tame and rolling, most of it technical and moderately challlenging ... there's even a 3' drop off of a rock face (if you're riding in the right direction). Most of the challenge is in the tightness of the turns, they can be pretty difficult. The elevation changes aren't very intense but they do provide enough of**ravity ride to keep you entertained thru the twisties. A solid little after work trail ... actually there is an entire outdooor park there ... fishing, picnicing, there's even a little train ride.

Located directly off U.S. Hwy. 31 in the City of Cullman. Take I-65 Exit 310 onto Hwy. 157 East. Turn south on Hwy. 31 approximately 1 mile. Park is located on the right at 1536 Sportsman Lake Road NW.
Fun trail for quick ride during the week. Since Sportsmans Lake park is in town, there is good access to anything you need (food, bike shop, etc). Good flow. Short climbs. This trail is a nice asset to have close by.
Thank |Fun and flowy with enough climbing to get a good workout. Trail markings are vague but you won't get lost. Ride everything in both directions plus do a loop on the paved trail around the lake and it will probably be about 10 miles. Nothing technical. A few short steep parts.
Thank |Nice park with nice trail system, bike trail was well maintained and a fun ride, lots of short climbs and decents. Trail not marked very well and is easy to get turned around but can manage. Great after work ride.
