Mountain Biking St. Louis Trail

****   Add a review
#9 of 33 mountain bike trails in Hawaii
#4,026 in the world

Starts of as a wide area with mild roots and turns into an area with big roots, this then turns into nice single track with some steep stuff at the end.

Getting there
On the free way heading towards diamond head get off on the sixth street exit and go left. Go to Waialae Ave. and turn left. A couple of blocks down there will be a city mill and a texaco take a right after the texaco and head up the hill. Go to the very top of the hill and take a left, you should enter a state park. Go to the parking lot and park and the trail is on the eva side.

Great trail. The beginning is easy when it's dry and has some small little stumps to hit with a few fun flow areas. Last 1/3 get a bit fickle!

It is about a 1000 foot climb to the trail head. The climb is so steep in some spots I had to walk and it was paved. I got out of my meeting a little late. The trail head was closed. Looks like a really good trail. I didn't want to be that idiot riding on trails that were closed because I came from out of town. I will catch another flight out later this year and make it happen.

Some Great Downhill. Very Technical at the bottom as there are large quantities of lava rock.

Note: Trail length is NOT 3 miles. More like 3/4 of a mile.
