Fast and fun. Not overly technical, not easy.

Getting there
From the North side of Sioux City take Stone Park Blvd West. It will eventually become Memorial Drive. There is a fork in the road - stay left. Park in the lot just South of the East entrance. There is a trail head right there or go down the gravel 1/4 mile to another.

Long climbs lead to fun downhills. Best to do counterclockwise. Shared with horses, so poohpiles can be on trail. Wide in many spots.

A nice ride if you know what the trail is. It is not really singeltrack. It is really doubletrack, and primarily a horse trail. Given those parameters, it is a really nice trail. Some killer hills to climb. Some great scenery with everything from awesome sunset vistas, to beautiful oak forest valleys. The biggest disappointment was it was very leafy when I was there. Therefore I was not comfortable just flying down the steep hills, which would have been a blast if visibility was better.
With the steep hills and the horse usage, of course some sections are eroded. But really only slightly, and they seem to be staying on top of it.
All in all a great workout. Some nice scenery. And a good ride if you are in the area.
Hard to rate the trail, because it is never less than 5' wide, but grades exceed 20%.

Nice scenery! Path isn't perfect due to horses.

I didn't get to ride the whole thing, and I'm not if bikes are allowed on the hiking trails. The bike/horse trail I did ride was machine cut and a bit washed out. It has a few problems, but those hills just DESTROYED me. I must go back, Must Conquer. :D like that'll happen, I think those hills are laughing at me, saying "Come back tomorrow and I'll take you again." bad gnats near sunset, ick* Review edited 5/9/2012

The trail is super fast. Nothing like trails in Utah where I am from but still a good fun trail. Not too difficult, the scenery is pretty good. Just a good trail to get out and ride on

fast and easy but poorly maintained. also used by horses with numerous blind corners and "road apples". overall, very disappointing.

It has some great trails but the recent work on a couple trails with half-buried tree trunks to divert water from the trails restricts a rider from any speed (I broke my rear axle going over one half-buried trunk a week ago)and the gravel in one spot is too deep to even ride through. There are a variety of trails from nearly impossible climbs to average sloped

Not to happy bout that. other then that, great climbs, Very fun Downhill sections, and Stone Park is very pretty. in town check it out. granutee you'll not be disappointed.

This is a fun trail to ride, although it’s not very technical and it’s a bit wide to be considered single track. What the trail lacks in technical challenges, it makes up for in speed. This trail is extremely fast on the down hill sections and includes some great banked corners and some very tight switchbacks that can still be ridden at speed. This is a great place to work on being smooth on the descent. But as we all know when trails go down, they normally come back up. This is also a great work out with its short but very steep climbs. None of the climbs are over a quarter mile long, but some of them are steep enough to make your lungs burn and wish you had another gear.

If you’re in the area, give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.
