Mountain Biking Stone Quarry

*****   Add a review
#195 of 1,392 mountain bike trails in Colorado
#1,502 in the world

Stone Quarry is a trail system that is still in the process of being built. Currently it has about 4.5 miles of purpose-built singletrack, and by the end of next summer it will have twice that.

However, this area also has some old doubletrack roads, and connects to some old school loops.

The trail is beginner/intermediate with good flow, and some slabby rocks to keep things interesting, even if you're a more advanced rider!

This trail system feels very similar to the beginner/intermediate trails being built in Moab--and that's a compliment! While rocky and with some entertaining features, everything here is quite doable for an intermediate rider. While the trail construction is excellent and this area has potential, this wasn't my favorite spot in Del Norte... but 4 stars seems fair :)

This trail system is slightly hard to find unless you have verbal directions or a guide, but once you're on the trail, you're hauling butt, in and out, up and down, between volcanic boulders, balancing on them, all depending on your aggression and your skill. This trail is less than 5 miles from the town of Del Norte and is a great sampling of colorado's finest trail building talent. You dont want to pass this up!!
