A serene forest stream flowing over rocks, surrounded by lush greenery and fallen leaves. A small, weathered wooden bridge spans part of the stream, nestled among the natural landscape. Stover Creek Loop mountain bike trail.

Mountain Biking Stover Creek Loop

****   Add a review
#177 of 403 mountain bike trails in Georgia
#4,783 in the world

Experience the beauty of the Pinhoti without having to ride the entire trail system. This loop takes you through Middle Mountain and a part of Hurricane Mountain, so you'll get in a long 1.5 mile climb to Middle Mountain.. Then ride through some rocky sections on the ridge of Middle and Hurricane. You'll finish with a nice 2 mile downhill along scenic Stover Creek and rock outcroppings of Middle Mountain.

Great ride with nice climbs, technical rock gardens and a really fast descent. Trail conditions were iffy though with lots of downed trees from the past weekends storms. Attempted to hand saw and clear what we could.

To be clear: if you want the Stover Creek Loop, climb the 207A gravel road, and when you reach the top, turn right onto Pinhoti Trail singletrack. If you start to descend on the gravel road for more than 100 yards or so, you have missed it. If you hit a creek crossing, you've really missed it. That being said, you could still have a great ride if you miss it, but it won't be a loop. Instead, it will be an out and back ride over the Pinhoti Trail along the Moddle Mountain Ridge and through Hurricane down to the Snake Creek Gap trail head.
