Mountain Biking Swithland Woods
#8 of 34 mountain bike trails in United Kingdom
A few double track/fire roads going down the middle, then lots of different trails branching off to explore. Main features of Swithland woods are the bomb hole shaped trails near the quarry that provide a variety of riding ranging from single track, to jumps and drop offs. Swithland woods is great for any ability of mountain biking, and could also be a good time for dirt jumpers. The terrain on top near the quarry is loose gravel/slate, and the further down you go, the more mud and dirt you will reach. The trails can range from tight switchbacks to wide double track, perfect for any rider.

Start from a selection of two car parks, one being near Bradgate Park, one near Swithland itself.
Good trail loads of fun but not quite long enough sections. You and some mates could definitely have a blast here, but theres a lot of walking/riding to the top to then bomb it back down again.
