This ride consists of two offroad sections of the Pinhoti Trail , P4 and P5,
connected by the Tatum Lead Rd 4WD trail. It can be done as an out and
back or connected to the Rock Creek ORV trails in the area for a longer 15
mile lolipop shaped loop. P4 is the section of singletrack starting from Ga
52 and heads southwest until it reaches the Tatum Lead Road 4WD trail.
At this point, make a left and head south on the Tatum Lead Rd 4WD trail
for about 2 miles until the second section of the Pinhoti, P5, comes in from
the west (your right while riding).
You now have two choices.
Option 1. Head west, downhill, on P5 for two miles until it ends at FS 3. At
this point you can either turn around and head back OR make a left and
ride to the Rock Creek ORV trails to loop back around to the Tatum Lead Rd
4WD trail and ride back to your car.
Option 2. Keeping heading south on Tatum Lead Rd 4WD trail. After 2.3
miles you will reach the Rock Creek ORV Trails. There will be a wooden sign
telling you to make a right for the ATV loop. This loop will take you downhill
to the Rock Creek parking lot. From here, head north on FS 3 until you
reach the southern end of P5. Make a left on P5 and head up it to return to
the Tatum Lead Rd 4WD trail. Once back on Tatum Lead, make a left and
head north to return to your car.
