Mountain Biking The Beach
#193 of 308 mountain bike trails in Ontario
Rare spring occurrence with snow and ice up to 100 yards out from the normal beach line caused by spring melt. Very hard packed snow up to 6' thick in areas sprinkled with sand with some softer sections. Fat bike only as there are numerous crevices to cross over . Some areas along shore still open sand . Condition of this location will vary with too much drifting snow in winter and sand during the summer.

Main Street Grand Bend at the beach
No snow or ice , just sand
Thank |Warm temps
Perfect fall conditions
Thank |No snow or ice roads yet
Thank |Just plain old beach sand
Late winter ice and snow sand formations are back. Minimal loose snow in some areas while the rest appears to be thinner ice .
Thank |Windy with -12c temps made for great conditions
Near perfect conditions for this seasonal area for biking . Cold temps -10c results in a very hard packed ice and snow base with sand grit for the shoreline mixed in from the winds . Distance north 1 direction on the ice is 8 k until a large river inlet interrupts the shoreline .
Thank |Rare hard packed snow conditions due to spring melt. Extended out into the lake and up the beach for miles. Numerous crevasses to pick a path through. Some stream inlets required heading back up to the road to cross bridges and then back down . Continued south and exited through Pinery Campgrounds with 4" of slushy hard to ride snow
