A serene landscape featuring rolling hills covered in green grass and scattered shrubs. In the foreground, a single tree stands prominently, while additional trees are visible in the distance. Mountain Biking The Boneyard

****   Add a review
#171 of 1,392 mountain bike trails in Colorado
#1,233 in the world

Switchbacking singletrack through heavily wooded BLM area. Leave parking lot and go straight across Mill Rd. and follow BLM signs toward gate and beginning of marked singletrack. Climb emerges from the trees and into rolling sagebrush fields, you will encounter some trail splits along the way (stay to the left of the BLM road) along with some short burst climbs. Recommend going down the Pool/Ice Rink trail from above the East Eagle connection for an extended downhill/cool-down ride to the trail-head (will increase total ride by @ 2 mi.).

Decent short, under an hour long ride to do before heading to Costco in Gypsum.

Fun, flowy trail! I had heard great things about the Boneyard and while it was worth riding, to me it seemed a little overhyped. But I'm still giving it 4 stars, so there's that.

Rode this trail Aug 2017. The last mile or so of this trail is suffering and should be closed or re - routed, it will just continue to erode into a deep rut filled with 3 inches of powder-dirt. Seriously Eagle trail crews, close this trail. It is NOT fun at the bottom. Descend on of the other awesome trails, but avoid Redneck Ridge.

Adding to the awesomeness of Eagle, Redneck Ridge is a blast. One of a few options once you climb up Boneyard, it's got a very different feel than Pool & Ice Rink - a little steeper in parts, a little rowdier/rockier in others. Swooping, fast downhill with some steeps thrown in, and as other reviews mention, some ruts/rocks to keep you on your toes.

I rode this as the up and then connected to pool and ice rink.
It was easy to find, easy to navigate. This was a manageable climb for me, but at altitude I had to stop a few times and take a breather every now and then. Nice views, rideable switchbacks. This trail goes straight up, pool and ice rink goes straight down. I gave it three stars as I enjoy a little more up and down in my trails. The trail makers in Eagle should be commended, this was well done.

Rode this as the uphill to Pool/Ice Rink. Good climb, very well built. No steep grades, manageable switchbacks, buff. Then Pool/Ice RIPS downhill!

Awesomely fun downhill. Really well-built trail. Flows great, big bermed turns, couple steep pitches. Just tons of fun, highly recommended. The climb up Boneyard is pretty mellow too.

Ride right out of town on to boneyard with beautiful views of I-70 from the top. Lots of switchbacks up to the top, with a double track ride on the top with an epic downhill descent

Super fun and fast downhill run after the Boneyard climb. Serious fun for a flatlander from Florida!

Great trail to begin my Colorado experience. Coming from flat Florida, the initial climb was more than I expected. Started out with a couple riding together and they helped guide me to the right turns. Was riding a rental with the wrong gearing for this trail, 1x11 instead of 2xanything. Still had a great time and would recommend to anyone.

Really fun Singletrack that starts with a fairly long climb but you're rewarded with a couple of nice descents. Can get dusty and hot during the middle summer months. Great early season ride.

This is a great way to spend a 1/2 day. Two big climbs followed by two wicked descents.

Superb downhill leg following Boneyard climb. A couple pitches are quite steep and much is quite rutted--it'll demand your best if you want to take it fast. If you take it fast, it goes by very quickly.

Yep, this is a way fun downhill and more than adequate reward for the climb it took to get there--definitely worth a run. Powdery at the bottom is an understatement--beware!
