A mountain biker wearing a helmet and brightly colored gear is riding along a dirt trail in a forested area. Tall trees and lush greenery surround the path, which bends to the right. A sign in the background reads "Daisy Dukes." The scene captures the exhilaration of outdoor biking in nature. The Flow mountain bike trail.

Mountain Biking The Flow

*****   Add a review
#39 of 322 mountain bike trails in Michigan
#1,392 in the world

The Flow is one of the best flow trails in the Midwest. At the top, the path winds its way through thick forest with small berms and rollers dotting the picturesque trail. This portion is a little pedally, but in general the rhythm of the trail will practically make it unnoticeable. In the middle section, the stakes are raised. The berms get bigger, the slopes get steeper, and the straights get faster. Just make sure you don't get going too fast, as the loose terrain will surprise you if you get careless. After passing the beginner jump/pump line Daisy Dukes, the trail gets much tighter. Hairpin turns, one really challenging uphill rock garden, and fun trail will greet you here. At the very end, riders must traverse one of the coolest features ever build: a wooden bridge extended from a rock wall that leads to a technical, tight switchback and the road.

Getting there
From Copper Harbor, take Gratiot Avenue west out of town. Almost immediately, you will turn left onto Brockway Mountain Drive. Ride the ridge to where a stone barrier emerges on the left. This is where both On the Edge and The Flow start.
