The Wheel Mill is the brainchild of Harry Geyer and was built through careful collaborative efforts, by local volunteers alongside legendary trail builders, and as organically as possible. In fact, 75% of the park was assembled with reclaimed lumbar and other scrapped material. Opened Spring of 2013, The Wheel Mill has since prided itself as a cycling hub for Pittsburgh, providing space for all ages and skill level, events, clinics, and some serious thrashing.

I have ridden Rays Indoor bike park and while the Wheel Mill isn't as big it's still an amazing year round place to ride. The park has changing rooms, bike/ equipment rentals, parts and a work stand, also snacks and drinks which is pretty important. There are several different areas to ride from XC to BMX vert jumps. I went in December and it was pretty full on a Saturday but everyone was friendly. Would definitely recommend if you are close to Pittsburgh ( I drove 4 hours). Rentals were good quality, only real complaint is I wish it were bigger. Also if you're in town check out Over the Bar Cafe for a bicycle themed bar.

This is a cool place with very nice people running it as well as riding on the features.

For my time/money, though, I would prefer to take a winter day off and make the drive to Ray's in Cleveland. Much more space, features, etc. but I will go back here to the Wheel Mill.

The Wheel mill has stuff for every one and it is really fun. The best is probably the pump track but they recenty built some new thing I have not ridden on yet.
