Mountain Biking Thunderbird Park

#73 of 417 mountain bike trails in Arizona

This trail is very rocky. Bring plenty of water because there is no shaded areas and it gets hot in Arizona. Overall a fun trail. I used a hard tail with a head shock but took it easy as to not blow out a tire or shock. A full suspension bike is recommended.

Update to my previous post. I rode the ACTUAL Cholla loop today (wrong one last time). HOLY COW! Lots of hike a bike moments. For a beginner - this was not too much fun. Very technical switchbacks with large rocks. My legs were bloody from all the rocks and cactus I ran into and fell on. Wife questioned my choice in hobby several times. Kids showed concern for a brief moment but then went back their phones. I enjoy challenges - so I will be back when I get a little more experienced.

Good mix of flats and rocks. Heart rate got up there on the climbs. Road the Cholla loop this morning. Fairly short ride.

Great trail for a quick ride after/before work. Not very long but enough elevation to get the legs working. Like similar posts have mentioned, don't go on the weekend, foot traffic is heavy.

Fun techy trails that challenge you with great features and good climbs. Only reason it gets a 4 is because it sometimes is so crowded hard to ride it with all the foot traffic. DO NOT TRY IT ON A WEEKEND

More for a full suspension bike, extremely rocky. Their are also a lot of hikers.

No way you need a full suspension bike to ride out here as the trail description says.
