Trail 403 is a classic Crested Butte ride, but due to its proximity to the eternally-popular Trail 401 it gets a fraction of the recognition. Trail 403 runs for about 4 miles from Gothic to Washington Gulch Road.
This is my new favorite trail- Imagine The 401 and Doctor Park had a Love Child! Steep, techy, and absolutely stunning views!!! Picture the 401 in better shape, steeper, more techy, more beautiful and a whole lot more fun! The drive and the climb SUCK!
Short ride but one of the most scenic... like totally ever! Just know you're riding close to 11k high so it's going to feel much harder on the short climbs.
You can camp right off of Washington Gulch road, ride up the road, take 403 then 401 (this might be a long day though) and finish off with Snodgrass to come back to Washington Gulch road.

Super wet/muddy in thick trees. Awesome trail and no one on it
