Mountain Biking Trap Creek - Swamp Creek Loop
#66 of 319 mountain bike trails in Idaho
The Trap Creek singletrack trail is intermediate in difficulty and has some short hike a bike sections in steep areas. Once you get to the junction of Trail 026, Marten Lake is just a couple hundred feet to the southwest of the trail intersection. Continue climbing about a mile on Trail 026 to the summit between Trap Creek and Swamp Creek. Enjoy the Swamp Creek downhill all the way back to the highway. Turn right on Highway 21 and ride the highway approximately 2.7 miles back to the Trap Creek Road.
The recommended direction of travel is clockwise.

To get to the Trap Creek Road, drive west from Stanley, approximately 12.8 miles. Trap Creek road is an easy to miss primitive road on the south side of Highway 21. Look for it between the Trap Creek Campground and the Vader Creek Rest Area. Park just off the highway and ride up the primitive road for approximately a mile. The Trap Creek singletrack trail starts on the left.
Some loose gravel in spots- the trail is more of a hiking trail than a bike trail, but still several miles of fun single track.
