This is a 13.5 mile backcountry loop through beautiful mixed conifer forests linking together Dodgeton Creek, Indian Creek and Baker Creek trails. The tread is mostly double-track, but there is also some significant amount of nice singletrack. The route has its fair share of rocks and roots and nice views of the Spanish Peaks (from Dodgeton). Either way you ride it, it is mostly uphill on the way out and downhill on the way back. Riding counterclockwise, you climb for about 7.5 miles on double-track followed by 6 miles of downhill on both doubletrack and singletrack on the way back. Riding clockwise, you climb about 6 miles followed by 7.5 miles of downhill. In this direction you encounter one 1.3 mile sustained challenging climb along with a few moderate to difficult climbs. Riding counterclockwise there are several moderate to difficult climbs. The maximum grade is 30% or more, so there are definitely some difficult punchy spots to get over.
If you want more chunk on the downhill finish, then do Baker Creek last. If you want more speed and flow, then do Dodgeton last. Either way, you get 1.3 miles of Dodgeton (and lots of speed and flow) to wrap up the ride. I'm not sure Baker Creek "delivered the goods" downhill for all the climbing that proceeds it. Currently, there are lots of downed trees near the summit of Indian Creek on both the north and south sides.
