Mountain Biking Tahoe Rim Trail: Spooner Lake to South Camp Peak
#22 of 114 mountain bike trails in Nevada
The Tahoe Rim Trail leaves from the picnic area , head up the trail . trail maps should be at the kiosk at the trail head . Stay on the single track looking for the blue TRT makers in the trees . The trail climbs for @ 5 miles up on to a plateau with incredible views . At @ 5.6 miles you arrive at the "bench" on the Lake side of the trail . This is the turn around for this ride . It is also possible to continue on and down to Kingsbury Grade making the ride @ 12 miles but you would need to have a car on the other end or turn around and ride back . The climbs are hard and you start at about 7000' climbing to almost 9000' the trail is rocky and loose in places .
