Mountain Biking Tumalo Creek

****   Add a review
#22 of 307 mountain bike trails in Oregon
#1,089 in the world

The Tumalo Creek Trail is 3.5 miles one-way and parallels Skyliner road. Starting at the Skyliner trailhead, the trail runs up near the road on the ridge side to the Tumalo Falls trailhead. Since it costs $$ to park at Tumalo Falls but parking at Skyliner is free, this is a great trail to start on.
The singletrack itself is pretty easy: classic dusty Bend singletrack. There are a few gradual climbs and descents, but nothing serious. The trail does provide some pretty sweet views of the mountains above and the creek below.

The trail is in great condition. A little bit of moisture is still in the dirt but will be gone soon. At the moment the entire trail system is riding almost perfect. The High Cascades 100 will beat it up a bit and the high temps coming up will pull the last bit of moisture out, but at the moment - perfect.

Conditions were optimal, except for the fact that there were several trees down. This is unusual for these trails and only due to the fact that there was a recent wind storm.

Fun little trail that hooks into other, more challenging trails in the Bend area. A few technical spots, but overall a good ride. Lots of runners, hikers and other bikers, so be wary.

This trail really isn't anything too special, but it's still a pretty sweet singletrack. Difficult: beginner to intermediate.
