Mountain Biking Tunnel Mountain Tech Trails
#1 of 219 mountain bike trails in Alberta
The Tunnel Mountain Tech Trails works pretty well as it's own little trail system, due to its physical separation from the rest of the Tunnel Mountain Trail System. This small trail system boasts the best singletrack in Banff National Park, with the ingeniously-designed Topp Notch Trail, the aggressive Star Wars trail, and the mild-but-flowing Return of the Jedi.

A great trail that any ability can enjoy. More advanced riders can try their luck at the skinnies, ladders, and jumps that litter the trail while novices will appreciate the flow of the trail alone.
Thank |Not only is Topp Notch one of the best built trails out there with a variety of high-risk features, tight switchbacks, and technical trials, but Star Wars is right up there too. Although the trail is much looser, its big jumps, challenging trail features, and high-speed berms will give you just as big of a grin.
Thank |This is just yet another great trail in the Banff area and has the best build-quality that I've ever seen. From the smooth (but feature-ridden) switchbacks of the upper portion to the technical trials of the bottom, is trail will separate the boys from the men according to technical capabilities. Be aware of the giant rock slab on one of the switchbacks because if you hit that sucker too fast, you'll most certainly go OTB.
Thank |Epic trail. A playground that I could do over Andover. I rode to this via the coastline and teddy bears playground trails which were both fantastic in their own right.
Thank |My wife and I were rolling through Banff camping with our 2 year old son and we had limited time to hit the trails. I had a 1 hour window in the rain and decided to try Topp Notch. Note: we live in North Vancouver so have the privilege of riding some very sweet X-country trails. Topp Notch started slow but by the midway point I was grinning like a fool and concentrating on every awesome upcoming feature. Tons of variety, tight, rocky, technical sections followed by flowy faster runs. The trail lives up to its name.
Thank |Short but packed with big features! Fortunately there are ride arounds and easier lines for people like me but if you can send it, this trail offers some great opportunities!
Thank |One of the most creative trails I've ridden! Berms, twitchy slow sections, ladder bridges, and more. Super fun and challenging!
Thank |This trail is decent, but mainly functions as a climb to get you back to the top of Star Wars and Topp Notch.
Thank |Topp Notch is pretty short, but this trail may be one of the most inspired mountain biking trails I've ever ridden! The utterly unique features and trail design make this absurdly entertaining. If you're anywhere close to Banff, you need to ride here!
