Mountain Biking Tunnel Mountain Trail System

****   Add a review
#4 of 219 mountain bike trails in Alberta
#1,112 in the world

Fun trail system with minimal elevation gain/loss but excellent views of the valley along the way. Forested singletrack with roots and a few rocks in spots but mostly beginner friendly.

Nice trail, rolling and buff. Can be paired with Star Wars and Return of the Jedi for a couple solid hours of riding.

a fun trail... we parked at the bottom of the hill, the first left after turning towards Banff on the Lake Minnewanka turn off. Rode our bikes up the road on that same hill. On the first corner we crossed road and found a trailhead to some incredible scenic views and great singletrack.

Extensive trail system with connections to campgrounds and lodging. Great way to explore the area around Banff with views of the Bow and Cascade Rivers.

Good beginner trail. I even took a first time rider on the trail... but she ended up riding the gravel path instead of the dirt trail. I didnt like that it was a 2 way loop - and there were several places the trail disappeared into the road and wasn't well marked to find the other side.

But overall, good trail. Nice ride.

The Tunnel Mountain trail system is a great, beginner-friendly trail system that's easily accessible from Banff. These flowing, fast trails don't have much climbing or descending, but the speed you can carry will make you forget that! The views are fantastic and the trail tread is mostly smooth, making this a great place for new riders.

One of the more entertaining trails in the Tunnel Mountain trail system, this trail is still on the easier end of the spectrum, despite being labeled a black on the map. I'd call it a blue, at most.
Also, the views off this trail are great!
