#150 of 403 mountain bike trails in Georgia
#3,868 in the world

Start out to the left, around the lake and go crazy. Lots of trails, so plenty of room for fun. Watch out for walkers!

Lot of roots and trees are down blocking some of the course

Probably the best trails close to the UGA campus. Unfortunately, a lot of the best runs are denoted only for running. Try to find the old chimney at the top of the trails, the best runs lead to and down from there.

Yeah, the trail is still open. Today rode about 5 miles on the IM trails. In my opinion, they are the most enjoyable trails inside the loop of Athens. Easy parking and many different routes to try. Rooty in places but can change your route and enjoy good climbs and fast downhills.

Nice and easy trail...good for biking alone when you cant get anyone to go on some of the harder trails. Good variety too...some rooty sections and smooth sections and one really curvy dowbhill section that is fun (when people are not running up it). Be ready to dodge runners and dogs on this trail.* Review edited 7/7/2009

I enjoyed exploring this trail a lot. The climbs were not too steep for me and had plenty of down hill runs. It was my first time here and i'm not sure if i saw every trail, but there seemed to be an outer loop with crossing trails in the middle. A few were marked with no bikes signs. I agree with the others on the runners/hikers. Makes you watch your speed around the corners.* Review edited 6/7/2009

High runners traffic is the only drawback. I revisited this trail after having not ridden it for a year or so and was pleasantly surprised. It even looks like someone is constructing some terrain by the old chimney.

a lot more than just one mile worth of trails here... there are actually some really sweet, well constructed pieces of interesting singletrack here. i was really surprised, i definitely wasn't expecting the trail to be that good, and that plentiful! some spots have a decent number of roots, too. surprised i haven't heard more about this place. definitely not a green circle rating.

good quick and convenient trail for most eastsiders. Not the most difficult and not very long.
