Mountain Biking Unkle Nazty
#351 of 1,392 mountain bike trails in Colorado
This trail is designed to be ridden downhill: it is very, very technical, so much so that several chunky sections require a dismount and some serious scrutiny in order to identify a rideable line! Many of the sections have an easier line and a tougher line, but it takes some looking and route finding to locate them. Bring some serious suspension and some serious cojones when you visit this trail!

there are three ways to get in to the town of Salida, from Colroado 291 from Buena vista. hwy 50 from Poncha Springs and hwy 50 from canyon city. from Salida look for F street and go over the F street Bridge. the road ends and leads you in to a parking area. From there you must bike over railroad tracks. You can take the Front Side Trail or Bike up to CR 177.
This rideis way knarly. I'm surprised I made itdown on my hardtail. First section of trail is steep with lots of rocky drops.
Thank |This is a wicked downhill--a seady sequence of big drops and rollers on a steep incline. Some of the toughest moves are extremely narrow and there's no real choice of lines--you take what's in front of you or you walk. Bring all your suspension and your guts if you think you can clean it all.* Review edited 10/9/2012

Thank |I'm giving this a double black diamond rating... it's not as tough as a full-blown downhill trail, but it is pretty dang close! This is a great trail for an all-mountain bike.
